The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) promotes democracy, human rights, economic freedom, and curbing climate change. In Southeast and East Asia, we have offices in Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta, Manila, Seoul, Taipei, and Yangon. We also work in Malaysia. The FNF regional team works with the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats, the Working group for an ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism, the Asia Centre, and the ASEAN Prosperity Initiative, which is part of the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs. Business and Human Rights: An Important Milestone for Human Rights in Indonesia
On May 20th, 2024, the Human Rights Division of Indonesia's Ministry of Law and Human Rights officially launched the "Implementing Guidelines for the Regional Task Force on Business and Human Rights." FNF as one of the Ministry's partners had contributed to realizing the implementation of the regulation since the early process.

FNF and LP convenes Political Education Forum at PUP-Manila
In order to teach the concept of liberalism and its societal significance and help future political leaders embrace political awareness as a means to advocate for the country’s welfare, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF)- Philippines collaborated with the Liberal Party of the Philippines (LP), Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP)-Political Science Society, and College of Political Science and Public Administration (CPSPA) Student Council to convene the "Kulayaan ang Kamalayan: Political Education Forum” on May 20, 2024, at PUP Sta. Mesa, Manila.

“Governing will be difficult“
On Monday May 20, the new President of Taiwan, William Lai Ching-te and his Vice-President Hsiao Bi-khim were inaugurated in Taipei. Many representatives from neighbouring countries and the international community, politicians from all Taiwanese political groups and civil society representatives attended.
Dr. Rainer Adam, the current head of the Taiwan office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Taipei, was also a guest at the inauguration.
Freiheit.org spoke to Dr. Adam about the new President Lai, his new government and the political situation on the island. -

Advocating Civic and Voter Education: GMM's Leadership Training for Community Leaders Invites School Wardens from the State of Johor
Akademi Gagasan Minda Merdeka (GMM) has successfully organized a Leadership Training for Community Leaders at Desa Selatan Resort on the 24th and 25th last April. This workshop heralded one of GMM and FNF's partnership commitments in advocating civic and voter education all around Malaysia, in collaboration with Johor State Education Department.

Heroism from the Eyes of the Young Generation
What really makes a hero?
To help the young generation build ongoing relevant conversations and meaningful reflections on how they can become modern-day heroes despite cultural, and psychosocial differences, the Philippine Education Theater Association in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Philippines invited more than 4000 students from 17 schools from Pasig and Tarlac City, and Infanta, Quezon to attend the three-leg Hero Vision 3 campaign.
